Your BTL Equipment Specs Are Probably Wrong: A 5-Step Verification Checklist

From the outside, they all look similar. The reality is that the power output, cooling system, and software protocols are different across generations.

Step 5: Confirm Warranty and Service Terms

Hit 'confirm' on the purchase order and immediately thought: 'did I just lock us into a service contract I haven't read?' The two weeks until the service agreement arrived were stressful.

BTL standard warranties vary by product line: 1 year for most aesthetic devices, 2 years for some surgical platforms. But extended warranties and service-level agreements (SLAs) are negotiable.

Read the Fine Print For:

  • Warranty duration — Is it 12 months from shipment or 12 months from installation? These can be very different.
  • Coverage scope — Parts only, or parts and labor? On-site included or depot service?
  • Exclusions — Consumables are almost never covered. Applicator wear and tear may also be excluded.
  • Response time — Standard SLA is often 2 business days. Next-day or 4-hour response costs extra.
